GOLF POP

I don't think I've really touched base since late July and we're now in the shaft of October and most of us probably have new jackets by now. Quite a bit has happened/progressed over these last few months of absence so I'll elaborate for a bit.

700 Main St. -- July, 2015

From about the latter half of June until the last bit of August, we spent the dog days battling the heat and writing an EP to be released shortly titled, -- Golf Pop -- with the majority of the first half spent still away at school. Studying away at school offered us an opportunity to be creative on a platform which we was not something we resorted to in the past as we typically tend to write on a schedule -- as in set days which would kick it and jam, but with me away at school we could only really jam in bunches.

Monday through Thursday was spent away studying while Thursday through Sunday was the group of days dedicated to writing and subsequently trying to find a pool to swim in. It was cool because we could really spend the majority of the work week brainstorming on both joint and independent levels -- almost to a point where we were talking out songs/parts/transitions in community and putting together the puzzle on the weekends. We were afforded a chance for all of us to have ideas for parts that we may not have in the room.

700 Main St. -- September, 2015

So after all of that, we drove down the street and took a dive into GCR Audio here in Buffalo to record with our hambone and guidance counselor, Jay Zubricky. We've always worked with Jay and I know by continuing I will start to sound like a frat alum who is defending his tribe with the greatest honor, but Jay truly one of the best guys we know, not only as a professional, but also a friend that goes above and beyond to make our lives easier and bring the best out of us.

It was the most fun we've ever had in the studio -- stress free, easy/open communication, and ate shrimp dinner every single day -- pretty ideal. Golf Pop was recorded from August to October 2015 -- five songs coming sometime real soon.

Live @ Dreamland -- October, 2015

Last week we celebrated the recording finale by having a Golf Pop tasting party, playing it live in full, with two great Buffalo bands, Well Kept Things & Wild Things. We really can't thank everyone involved enough for making it a night I don't think any of us will ever forget. Two and a half years of no shows and to be welcomed back like that was very generous -- we are very thankful and fortunate.
A big thank you to Mike Moretti and BuffaBlog for putting on the gig and all of their external efforts behind the scenes that made the show such a great time as well as both Well Kept Things and Wild Things.

So yeah -- thats really it, nothing too crazy to report at the moment. New music/visuals/news real soon and a few shows towards the end of the month that it would be great to see everyone at. For the meantime, stream "Nevermind" below --
